Finding the "Right" Path

Honestly, what does that mean? Growing up, many including myself has countlessly heard some version of that phase throughout life, but does anyone know what it means? After almost 28 years of life, I still don't know what the “right” path means. Honestly, does it really exist? In reality depending on the values and views of the individual, would the definition of the “right” path even be the same? Answer no. Though it is not a bad thing, it adds to our uniqueness as beings.

I believe the more fitting wording is “your” path. Now that’s a tougher question, what does that mean? The best part it’s totally up to you; make your life journey your own. Make mistakes, try new things, learn something new every day, don’t be get too comfortable & explore!

For some, it can sound intimidating possibly overwhelming because the possibilities are endless. While others are in love with the freedom it manifests. For those who are more nervous & unsure of what to do and/or where to go, best advice I can give is take a deep breath and take one day at a time. For the planners out there thinking “nope, I need to know what’s happening and when because I need to know what is going on most or at all time.” Even though realistically that’s not possible, in fact with many variables that can stand in way you can’t truly plan for everything.

Though I challenge you to practice releasing the need to plan/control and trusting others or even nature to take you away. In the end, everything always works out even though times of hardship you will come out the other side. Now, I am not here to tell you it’s easy when for some people it’s not and that’s okay. Going back to the previous advice and taking one step at a time. Start small by allowing a portion of your day to be unscheduled then overtime move to a full day. Allowing that time to be for anything you want. Get into the habit of not jam packing your day with list of events and tasks but leave space for any creativity, rest, exploration or nothing.

“People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.”
― A.A. Milne, Winnie the Pooh

Remembering there is not a “right” path but learning who you are and your purpose in life. There are many voices around you of loved ones to friends and mentors who want nothing but the best for you. They have their own thoughts of the path you should or shouldn't take, but in the end it’s your life. Pleasing others will never get you to your full potential but instead be on edge. Be you and shine because there is only one of you!

Always remember be free be yourself because it’s the best person to be.

Much love,

Cristina
