Thai Yoga Massage: 90min Session

Looking for a more active healing session? Increase mobility & flexibility? Reconnect with the body? Want a combination of different healing modalities into one session? Look no further, Thai bodywork is for you!

Thai yoga massage or also called Thai yoga bodywork & lazy man's yoga is a one-to-one healing session that dates back about 2,500 years ago. Thai bodywork is done on a thick cushion floor mat, and it combines compression, reflexology, yoga stretches, acupressure, Thai medicine, and energy work. Using hands, feet, forearms, elbows, and knees, the practitioner will apply gentle pressure on the body, then stretch that area of the body to help release tension and increase mobility. During the session, clients focus on their breath and allow the practitioner to move and stretch their body. Clients are free to ask questions and take a break throughout their session. Clients wear comfortable breathable clothing, so they able to move and stretch freely with less restrictions.

*Recommend not to have any plans after your session to leave space for yourself. Rest, stay hydrated & lots of self-care especially the first few days after your session.

Heated herbal compresses are a mix of different herbs (fresh and/or dried) wrapped in a cheese cloth and steamed similar to hot stones. They are applied onto the skin at specific points to provide relieve to the muscles and joints while also increasing circulation to help the body to release and relax. Ingredients used in the compresses: Camphor, Myrrh gum, Ginger, Eucalyptus, Lemon, Peppermint, Comfrey root & Menthol crystals.

Tok Sen is technique used to release tension & break up congestion in the muscles by using a wooden mallet and wedge. The wooden wedge is placed on the tissue then the practitioner taps the wedge with the mallet along the body focusing on the Sen lines.

Directions to the space: Park anywhere there is an open spot: in front or in the parking lot in the front on the side of the building. There are two ways to get to the space. Once parked, enter through the first set of silver doors to your left there is a red door that has Be Free Be Yourself business logo on it. Enter through the red door down the steps and it's the first door on the left. Second option is to enter through both silver doors and take the elevator down to the basement. Recommended number of sessions per month: It varies on each individual's needs though once a month is the average most do (referred to as monthly maintenance). When coming monthly, normal life's events & stresses gets released and the body becomes restored. If there are buildups of past traumas, life changing events occur, an increase of stress & anxiety or any other things that greatly impacts you, coming in for a session a few times a month is highly recommended until you feel more restored then return to monthly maintenance sessions.
